There's also a highly-touted option to "be the Oop" - i.e., go up for an alley-oop pass from an AI player, instead of waiting for the computer to move itself into position. A more versatile passing system using the analog sticks allows for bounce passes off the backboard and even opposing players. Level 2 Gamebreakers are in the works, allowing for even flashier moves and bigger momentum shifts if you save up extra juice on the Gamebreaker meter. 2's freestyle gameplay system, although EA has already dropped some interesting hints. It's not clear whether courts will be linked to hidden players in the single-player game, as they were in NBA Street, but the structure of the single-player modes should become clearer soon. The classic players add a nice bit of leavening to the game's style, with the short shorts and high socks of the NBA's old school contrasting with today's baggy jerseys and loosened-up attitude. In addition to teams of contemporary superstars, though, the licensed half of the roster will also include great NBA names of yesteryear - Julius Erving, Clyde Drexler, Dominque Wilkins, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Pete Maravich, George Gervin, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Bill Walton, and more to be announced. 2's roster of players comprises both fictional Street Legends and real NBA players.
